delta plane crash

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed that all 80 people on board the Bombardier CRJ-900 were safely evacuated. Initially, it was reported that eight people were being cared for by paramedics, but that number was revised to 15 shortly after.

Three people are being treated for serious injuries, though none are believed to be life-threatening. While details about the individuals are scarce, we do know that a man in his 60s and a woman in her 40s are both in hospital, as well as a child who was taken to Toronto Children’s Hospital.

The cause of the crash, which occurred after the plane landed on the runway, has yet to be determined, but Toronto has seen heavy snowfall in recent days, with the city reporting up to 23 centimeters of snow over the weekend. Temperatures on Monday were forecast to reach a high of 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

Passengers recorded the moments after the crash.
